This immunotoxin was achieved by conjugating/fusing the Anti-TFRC monoclonal antibody to Pseudomonas exotoxin. It was expressed in CHO and purified with affinity chromatography. The immunotoxin selectively binds to tumor cells. Cellular uptake of iron occurs via receptor-mediated endocytosis of ligand-occupied transferrin receptor into specialized endosomes.
