This immunotoxin was achieved by conjugating/fusing the Anti-TFRC scFv to Diphtheria toxin. It was expressed in CHO and purified with affinity chromatography. The immunotoxin selectively binds to tumor cells and the toxin enters cells by receptor-mediated. This gene encodes a cell surface receptor necessary for cellular iron uptake by the process of receptor-mediated endocytosis.
